22nd December, 2006

I decided I should update this website before the new year rolls around. It's been awhile, and I don't have many commissions to show for it. However I've put up my Design section where you can see everything I have been up to this past six months. And I've finally graduated! Though I have no idea what to do next, yikes! But enough about worries, Merry Christmas from me, hubby, Bailey, and Pookie!

9th July , 2006

Five new commissions, plus a 2006 "Traditionals" section (for my life drawing art mainly) have been added. Woot! I've been working on graphic design stuff a lot lately, so I've been really busy. Doing websites and logos all over the place. After this week I'm going to have the next month free (until fall semester starts), so I'm going to try and get my portfolio together and start looking at jobs. Time to enter the job market again! Only this time I'll have skills, and a degree! Woot! ^_^

10th May , 2006

Whole bunches of stuff have been added! 8 commissions (7 of which are things for the ACEN program book), photos from ACEN, and a whole new section where you can give money to the starving artist! Woot! Please feed the starving artist. ^_^

ACEN went swimmingly. ^_^ The program book looked uber cool, I got to meet everyone I'd been talking to on the phone these past months, plus we got lots of nummy free food! And, of course, Artist Alley rocked. Go see some of my on-the-spot commissions in the ACEN section of the Gallery.

So yup, all around a very cool time. Now we'll be leaving for England in less then a week. And I still have homework to finish up. And three commissions. Yikes!

6th April, 2006

One commission - I should be getting the other done soon. I'm so relieved, I finally got all the pages done for the ACEN program book. I can start concentrating on school now! So to the left you will see a taster of the program book pages - they turned out pretty cool if I do say so myself. I also got 2,000 hits, so I put that in there. Woot! ^_^

I have an old website I made when I was 14 that now has over 44,000 hits. I discovered that it was still online a few months ago. Ah, those good old angsty teenager days.... It's called The Garden of the Black Rose. Do old web servers ever clear their crap out? I mean, 10 years... honestly. ^_^

31st March, 2006

I finally put some tutorials in the tutorial section. Now I just need to get my guestbook working with the new layout and the website will be done. I have quite a few new art pieces, but some of them are for ACEN and I figure I shouldn't post them until they are published, and the others are commissions but one isn’t finished and I would like to post them in a batch. So expect some new art within the next month.

AHH, ACEN is so soon!!

24th February, 2006

I got my tablet PC in the mail yesterday!!! I LOVE it! I want to squeeze it into little tiny pieces! It's so cute and special!!

I drew this picture with it. It's soo much easier - like actual drawing on paper! Or, well, glass.... Anyway, that's meant to be me with my tablet PC (it's an HP tc4200). ^_^ I got my hair colored, what do you think...? =D

21st February, 2006

I haven't added much, only 3 sketches. The main thing is yet another new website! ^_^ I realized the old one looked crap in everything except IE, and since most people are all hoity-toity about IE I figured I had better have a total overhaul. I like this one a lot better, anyway!

5th February, 2006

Look, a whole new website! Woo!! And Laura-Anderton.com has been around for one year, woohoo! I'm putting up all my old art, because it's sort of cool to see the progression. So in honor of that, here is one of my first anime drawings ever! It's from 1994. Likkle lauwa dwa amine. Cute!

Actually, my first ever anime drawing was of Rydia, which I drew on an envelope to send into Nintendo Power. I can't find a picture of it though, I know it's somewhere. I remember my dad said she looked like an alien because of the big eyes. Heh.

2nd February, 2006

Added 2 commissions! Yup, same as the last update - only 2 commissions. I've mostly been working on logos and brochures and things for my mom and her cronies - I may have to add a "graphic design" section to the website soon. I have very little homework this semester, which is driving me up the wall. I think I've forgotten how to just relax. Anyway, I'm going to try and start getting ready for ACEN soon - we got the hotel room and my Artist Alley table all booked. I'm also going to be teaching a how-to-draw class to 9-12 year olds. I hope they call me "teacher" and give me apples. They better if they know what's good for them.

I've been working on a new layout for this website, but since my free webspace from my ISP doesn't have all those special perks like PHP, I need to make it frame-based again if I want it to be easy to update. I also want it to be in CSS. Oh, I designed the new layout for the ACEN website too - because I kicked up such a fuss about how ugly the old one was. I did it really quickly, like 30 minutes actually, and I wish I had been able to spend more time on it, but either way go look - [http://www.acen.org]. And with all that work, I'm still on "volunteer" status. Ah, well.

16th January, 2006

Added 2 commissions! Not much added. I feel like I've been doing a lot more, I'm not sure where it all is though. ^_^ We got back from Florida yesterday - whaa, I miss vacation. Reality smells. Ack, and I start school tomorrow. But I still have a lot of things to get done - 2 other commissions, a brochure for my mom's monkey rights group (she's an aged hippy P), and a buncha other stuff. And I wanted to get everything done before I started school. *sigh* I guess I just have to accept that I'll always have about 50 projects on the back burner. Oh, well - as long as I get to have little breaks in Florida every once-in-awhile, I think I can avoid a total mental breakdown. ^_^

18th December , 2005

Added 2 commissions, 4 originals! Winter break is almost here, horray! I have a final tomorrow and I'm not ready, crap! It's almost Christmas, horray! I have a 10 page paper due two days before Christmas, crap! I put more pictures up, horray! I could keep doing this forever, crap!

I'm so tired of this site, I want to make a new one - the designing is fun but it's a lot of work moving the content around. Depending on how fast I get the two commissions I still have to do, I might be able to start accepting commissions over break. But we're going to Florida for a week, so we'll see. Horray!

4th November, 2005

Added 7 pieces of homework! Those can all be found in the originals section. I have had no time to draw anything other than for school (and doodles in my notebooks ^_^). If you didn't know, I returned to college after taking three years off and doing what with the getting married and living in England. Anyway, school is going well, though I foolishly thought that - since I'm a responsible adult and everything now - I could handle a full credit load. Well, it's like having two full-time jobs - 25 hours of in class time each week, and about 40 hours of homework. Yarg. Hence the lack of updates, and the fact that I've had two commissions on hold since August. It's going to be negative eBay feedback soon, I fear. O.O

28th July, 2005

Hello again! I know, I've been away awhile. I have a very good excuse, though. [Go here] to find out more! ^_^

Anyway, I've only done two commissions in all this time (okay, I did one more really cool one, but that is still hush hush ^_-). But I've put them up, so go see! Otherwise, all my time has been taken up by my excuse (see above).

I know I'm a bit premature on the 600 hits, but who knows when I'll update next? Like my PJ picture? I actually have those PJs, amongst my large PJ collection - they seem to be the only clothes I own!

30th May, 2005

Added the commission I've promised! That's about all. I started a DeviantArt gallery - because everyone has them, and you know, gotta be part of the crowd - but I don't think I like it very much. I've never enjoyed that sort of thing since the Elfwood years (you know Elfwood, that humungoid site - I was one of the first on it. Oh, yes I was. In gallery 4 I was, and when galleries only had, like, 10 people). Aanyway, I spent like 4 years on it, from 1996-2000, and I just got fed up being so obsessed with peoples' comments - lots of good ones, and then one bad comment would plunge me into a pit of despair. Now anything with that sort of format just brings be back to those lovely teenage years... so I most likely won't stick with this DeviantArt thing, either. It's also a very confusing layout! Blah.

29th May, 2005

I'm finally better! Well, almost. I'm still having some aftereffects from all the antibiotics (I ended up with a sinus infection), but otherwise I'm a healthy girl! It's amazing, I forgot how nice it was to be able to sleep through the night without coughing constantly.

Anyway, I've added one new commission. I've got another one pretty much done, so I could have just waited and uploaded the two together, but I was in the mood for playing with websites. Which brings me to my new [Japanese version of this site], which I made 'cuz I was bored. There isn't much there, but it's enough to post on Tinami.

I've also made an archives section for old update notices - because this front page was getting a little long. That took all of two seconds. ^_-

15th May, 2005

I'm back ! Well, I didn't think I was going to make it. I woke up Friday feeling like a big fat flu germ - achy, nauseous, feverish... but through the miracles of Tylenol, I was able to get my sick butt down to Chicago (albeit 6 hours late).

I totally lost (and have yet to find) my voice - I'm sure everyone enjoyed me rasp/hacking at them if they wanted a commission. But I did get a good deal of business (you can see some commissions in the new "ACEN" section of the gallery), I got to ask Higuri You a question about coloring, and I got Kazuko Tadano's signature when she visited the Artist's Alley!

So despite being incredibly ill, I still managed to really enjoy myself! And I probably made a few hundred people sick as well, which is always fun.

12th May, 2005

Anime Central tomorrow! So I'm updating the website instead of getting ready! AHHH! It's like I always say, when something is stressing you out, ignore it and it will probably go away. And if it doesn't, have a panic attack.

So I added five new pictures, three in the originals section and two in the old/sketches/junks section.

I'm also coming down with my second cold in the month I've been working at Kindercare. Damn little devil spawn, crawling with deceases. You'd think being holed up in the office all day would protect me.

This is gonna be a fun weekend. ^_^

29th April, 2005

New Commissions section! I've added a new commissions section, and managed to modify the paypal cart to work nicely!

I really have been working on artwork, too (preparing for ACEN, ahhh!) but I've gotten a new computer since the last update and I'm too lazy to go searching through it for the button template. Maybe tomorrow!

29th March, 2005

Added FIVE new Commissions! I told you I had a lot of commissions to do! And I'm not done yet! AHH! Damn Easter weekend in the middle - no time, no time!

20th March, 2005

Added Commissions! Well, no one seemed to have a problem with me posting their commissions on this site, so they're all in the gallery now! I also split the gallery up into sections - though I don't have anything in the old/sketches section (because that would mean getting one of my backup CDs, or scanning in some sketches, and that's work.) ^_^

19th March, 2005

Added a Guestbook! I figured since there were actually a few people visiting this site, it should have a place for them to complain about how little content there is. Haha!

I've been doing a lot of commissions through eBay - I've had to stop putting auctions up until I finish with these. I'm really having fun with them, since I love drawing anyway and now I'm getting paid for it! I keep forgetting to ask people permission to include their commissions on this site, so soon there should be a lot more artwork going up.

9th March, 2005

Added a new "e-bay" section! I was never going to update the diary anyway, so I replaced it with an e-bay section! Now you can see all my exciting e-bay auctions, and hopefully go buy some of my exciting artwork for yourself! Don't ya just wanna?!

I also added a watercolor and some oekakies to the gallery. I'm thinking once I have enough art up there, I'm going to split it up unti sections.

26th February, 2005

New website today! Well, I spent a lot of time on it, and I'm very proud! ^_^ And look at all the pretty photoshop brushes I used (from http://roshiweb.com/). Maybe one day I'll try making my own brushes, but right now I wouldn't even know where to start!

There's also basically no art up yet, because I haven't made much since a virus got hold of my hard drive and ate it. Luckily I'd backed everything up about a week before hand, but I figured it was a good time to make a fresh start: new website, new artwork, new me! ^_^
